Anyone know anything about Enhanced CDs? (Gutterflower and Goo Goo Dolls’ EOAC compilation)

Hi everyone.

I am a pretty big fan of the Goo Goo Dolls, and I bought a couple CDs at a record shop the other day. Two of the CDs were like « enhanced » or something, which with some research I saw was a pretty common feature for CDs in that late 90s to late 00s era.

I loaded both CDs on my disc drive and to access that « Enhanced » bonus content, you were to run an .exe that was to take you to a special registration page. However, that page is offline. It just redirects me to MSN.

So this had me thinking about bonus content like this. With some research I found out that a lot of these Enhanced CDs have the bonus content directly on the disc. Mine was hosted on a website.

Using The Wayback Machine, I looked for some URLs about Gutterflower. (googoodolls.com and then I just searched every URL containing « gutter ») And I was able to get all of the bonus images this way! (That were archived at least)

However, the tricky part is that all of the captures for ‘member’ URLs like ‘bsides’ and ‘lyrics’ don’t work, and just send you back to the login page (https://web.archive.org/web/20020718174904/http://www.googoodolls.com/gutterflower/index.html)

So… with no way to register for this bonus content, and no way to view it without being registered… I’m stuck on how to view it. I would need someone who has the website saved or a way to get through the registration wall.

I was lost on where to post this, but this was very interesting to me and maybe we could find a way to discover bonus content for other CDs that were taken offline.

Also, I posted about this in r/googoodolls and I didn’t get much response besides someone who claimed to have the website archived somewhere. Which isn’t much help because I still don’t have it, and I don’t think they will actually find it and send it to me.

I’m hoping to be able to access the website itself as well as the different ‘member’ exclusive bonus content, besides just the pictures. (And also to find the EOAC album’s stuff)

It would be awesome to find a way to access this stuff!
